OGC offers competitive programs through USA Gymnastics for boys and girls of all ages at all competitive levels from beginners to advanced. ALL TIME HIGHLIGHTS


OGC is proud to announce that THREE OGC Athletes have skills named after them as a result of performing them successfully in their routines at the Junior Olympic Championships.  We are as proud of the athletes as we are of the skills they performed!

Gretchen Goerlitz (2003) performed a barani in - back out dismount (Goerlitz) on the uneven bars.

Melissa Baudhuin (2007) performed an aerial cartwheel switch leg (Baudhuin) on the balance beam.

Katherine Grable (2008) perfomed a Jaeger with a full twist from low bar to high bar (Grable) on the uneven bars.
 

 

In 2009, 10 OGC athletes qualified to the United States
Junior Olympic National Championships.

Level 4:
 

Team members for the Level 4 group ranging in age from 7 to 12 years old were:

All 25 of the girls qualified for the Wisconsin State Championships that were held December 6-7, 2008 in Verona.  Medal winning performances were:

Skylar Lakey, age 9:  Gold on Bars, Bronze on Floor and Silver All-Around

Genna McLeish, age 11:  Bronze on Floor, Gold on Vault, Beam and All-Around

Team members for the Level 5 group ranging in age from 8 to 15 years old were:

All 15  team members qualified for the Wisconsin State Championships held December 6-7, 2008 in Verona.  Medal winning performances were:

Taylor Kottke, age 11:  Gold on Vault and Beam, Bronze All-Around
Jasmin Martinez, age 11:  Silver on Floor
Elisabeth Pettit, age 13:  Bronze on Beam
Theresa Richards, age 10:  Bronze on Bars, Gold on Beam
Maeve Salm, age 9:  Gold on Beam
Madeline Smith, age 8:  Gold on Vault, Silver on Beam
Brianna Spanbauer, age 8:  Silver on Vault
Jofflyn Zaremba, age 12:  Bronze on Vault, Bars and All-Around
 

Level 6: 2nd. Place Team at State
 

Team members for the Level 6 group ranging in age from 9 to 12 years old were:

Maddy Corbin, Desiree Flouro, Maria Helein, Sommar Kaufmann, Natalie Koehler, Emily Minton, Lauren Neveau and Gabriella Tagliapietra

All 8 of the team members qualified for the Wisconsin State Championships held December 6-7, 2008 in Verona.  Medal winning performances were:

Maria Helein, age 10:  Bronze on Beam, Gold on Vault, Bars, Floor and All-Around
Natalie Koehler, age 11:  Bronze on Beam, Gold on Floor and Bronze All-Around
Lauren Neveau, age 9:  Bronze on Bars, Silver on Floor and All-Around
 

Level 7: 1st. Place Team at State

The Level 7 team consisted of ten gymnasts ranging in age from 9 to 14 years old. 

The 2009 team members were Jayna Baumler, Maddy Corbin, Delaney Griedl, Maria Helein, Alyssa Lennon, Lesley Merritt, Emily Murphy, Lauren Neveau, Paige Ritchie and Sofia White.  This talented group enjoyed competing in meets throughout Wisconsin as well as a national meet in Chicago, Illinois. 9 of the 10 team members qualified and participated at the Wisconsin State Gymnastic Championships held April 3 – 5, 2009 in Mequon, WI taking 1st place! 

Outstanding OGC Level 7 Individual Medal-winning performances at State included:

Maria Helein, age 10:  Bronze on Beam, Silver on Floor, Gold on Vault and All-Around

Level 8: 4th. Place Team at State

Our Level 8 team was made up of thirteen gymnasts ranging in age between 9 and 16 years old.  Competitions included meets throughout the State of Wisconsin as well as attending three National competitions in Orlando, Chicago and Indianapolis.  This hard-working group qualified all team members for the Wisconsin State Gymnastics Championships placing 4th as well as Regional competition held this year in Wisconsin Dells. 

Team members were Cierra Anderson, Greyson Esslinger, Kadi Hamer, Leah Levine, Marcy Merritt, Kierra Miller, Dana Moriearty, Sana Nerenhausen, Erin Neveau, Brittney Pauls, Mya Ramadan, Lauran Redemann and Elisabeth Van Krey.

Outstanding OGC Level 8 Individual Medal-winning performances at State included:

Greyson Esslinger, age 13:  Bronze on Beam, Silver on Bars and All-Around

Level 9: 2nd. Place Team at State

Seven outstanding gymnasts comprised the Level 9 OGC gymnastics team including Lauren Curwick, Josie Hielsberg, Savannah Kaufman, Cassidy Kleven, Audrey Merritt, Hayley Quandt and Emily Stenson.  Their ages range from 12 to 15.  Competitions included meets throughout the State of Wisconsin as well as attending three National competitions in Orlando, Chicago and Indianapolis. 

This talented group qualified all team members for the Wisconsin State Gymnastics Championships taking the 2nd place trophy.  All of the gymnasts also qualified for Regional competition held in Wisconsin Dells with five team members qualifying for advance competition at Westerns held in Bartlesville, OK. 

Outstanding OGC Level 9 Individual Medal-winning performances at State included:

Lauren Curwick, age 15:  Silver on Beam, Gold on Vault, Floor and All-Around
Audrey Merritt, age 14:  Silver on Beam, Bronze All-Around

Level 9 gymnasts may qualify for Regionals (Region 4) and if successful there, advance to Westerns (Regions 1, 2, 3 and 4). 

Outstanding Region 4 medal winning performances included:

Lauren Curwick, age 15:  Bronze on Bars, Silver on Vault and All-Around, Gold on Beam and Floor
Savannah Kaufman, age 13:  Bronze on Beam
Cassidy Kleven, age 12:  Bronze on Bars and All-Around, Gold on Floor
Audrey Merritt, age 14:  Bronze on Beam, Silver on Floor
Emily Stenson, age 13:  Bronze on Vault, Beam and All-Around

Congratulations to Western qualifiers Lauren Curwick, Savannah Kaufman, Cassidy Kleven, Audrey Merritt and Emily Stenson!

 

Level 10: 1st. Place Team at State

Our Level 10 team was made up of nine gymnasts ranging in age between 15 and 17 years old.  This gifted team for 2009 included Brittany Adams, Michelle Adams, Erin Brady, Emily Bucher, Emily Dinse, Katherine Grable, Dusti Russell, Bailey Zeinert and Haleigh Zillges.  Their competition season included meets throughout Wisconsin as well as National meets in Orlando, Chicago and Indianapolis.  All team members qualified and competed at State leading to a 1st place finish in the 2009 Wisconsin State Championships! 

Outstanding OGC Level 10 Individual Medal-winning performances at State included:

Erin Brady, age 16:  Bronze on Vault and Floor
Emily Bucher, age 16:  Bronze on Vault
Katherine Grable, age 16:  Silver on Bars and Floor, Gold on Vault, Beam and All-Around

Haleigh Zillges, age 17:  Bronze on Beam

Level 10 gymnasts may earn a place to compete at Region 4 championships and if successful, advance to the USAG Junior Olympics.

Eight Level 10 gymnasts qualified for the Junior Olympics held in Auburn, Washington.

Program Grows

"Since the opening of OGC in September of 1992, the girls competitive program has grown from a mere 15 to about 100. The boys program has had 8 to 15 competitors consistently. Things continue to look better and better as the athlete keep improving."
